Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Typence (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Account Registration

• You must provide accurate and complete registration information (email, username, password).
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password.
• You may not create more than one account per person without prior permission.
• You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU) to create an account.
• Verified accounts go through email confirmation. Unverified accounts may have limited functionality.

3. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use automated tools, scripts, bots, or cheats to manipulate your typing performance or leaderboard rankings.
• Choose a username that is offensive, impersonates others, or violates third-party rights.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users’ accounts or data.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the application.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

4. Intellectual Property

The application code, design, UI, content banks (kana, word, kanji, and sentence databases), and Typence branding are the exclusive property of Typence and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights.

Any content you create using the custom content editor or that appears on leaderboards grants Typence a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display and distribute it within the context of the Service.

5. Service Availability

We strive to keep Typence available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without liability. The core typing practice functionality works offline through browser localStorage as a fallback.

6. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TYPENCE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. THIS INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, DATA LOSS, TYPING-RELATED INJURIES, OR EDUCATIONAL INACCURACIES IN THE CONTENT MATERIAL.

7. Content Accuracy Disclaimer

Typence provides Japanese language content (kana, kanji, romaji, translations) for educational typing practice. While we strive for accuracy, we make no guarantee that all content is error-free. Users should verify translations and readings through authoritative sources for educational purposes.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for any user who violates these Terms, without prior notice. You may terminate your account at any time through the profile page’s account deletion feature.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, including but not limited to Undang-Undang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik (UU ITE) and Undang-Undang Perlindungan Data Pribadi (UU PDP No. 27/2022).

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be resolved through mediation. If mediation fails, disputes shall be settled in the competent courts of Indonesia.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the application or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
